How many people can see my website at the same time?

Hi I have a website with some funny videos to a static page, some flash games and a forum where i total number of visitors expected to visit is about 100k + a month I have some godaddy shared hosting but only allow 200 connections to be made at the same time I was told I have to upgrade to a VPS or dedicated server. How many people at the same time the servers can handle? Do you think that this plan be good or would be slow and low bandwidth? Thanks for your time. • Operating System: Linux CentOS • RAM: 2 GB • Storage: 30 GB • Bandwidth: 1,000 GB / month

There are more variables than you have listed so I can not give a definitive answer. I can tell you this: most times the bandwidth is the major limiting factor. You do not have publicly traded (the 1000gb/mo is an artificial limitation imposed by your hosting provider, not the actual bandwidth, and is probably more than you will use for the moment). For example, at work we have a pipeline of 30 GB, which means we can handle the value of 30gb total traffic at any given time. Believe it or not actually hit the top that often, but this is largely due to the fact that we have 3,000 power generation equipment outgoing traffic and a web server which receives about 1.5 million visits per month next generation. Here's the trap, but: If you are receiving more connections than you can handle, usually do not fail (unless you're getting a connection much more than you can handle). Just found a slowdown in getting their data as they wait for an open connection.
